At the Houston Music Institute, our students inspire us to teach individually and creatively. As an institute, we strive to equip them with a complete understanding of music so they are truly able to learn, create, perform, and succeed.

The Houston Music Institute teaching approach is effective: so effective that universities utilize HMI as a pedagogical resource. Local unviersities send their music students to train at HMI and, in fact, former HMI instructors now head pedagogy departments at three Texas universities: University of Houston, University of Texas, and Southern Methodist Unversity.
